This week, EA Sports' Peter Moore revealed that Madden NFL 12 would release August 30th, roughly two weeks past the usual release date for the iconic football franchise. However, some fans may in fact be relieved by this announcment.
Currently, negotiations are underway between the NFL and the NFL Players Association after players filed an anti-trust lawsuit against team owners, with word that the NFLPA has even discouraged rookies from participating in the NFL draft. If an agreement isn't reached soon, there will be a season long lockout, which some feared would affect this year's Madden release. However, Moore has reassured that regardless of how these events unfold, Madden 12 will release as planned.
Madden NFL 12 will be available on the Playstation 3, Xbox 360, Wii, PSP, and Playstation 2. Also available is a recently released Madden installment for the 3DS, simply titled Madden NFL Football. Meanwhile, fans can participate in the Cover Vote contest, allowing them to vote for NFL star to feature on Madden 12's cover. The contest has entered the semi-finals and concludes on the 26th.
