Earlier this year, EA Sports in partnership with ESPN and the National Football League held a March Madness style contest to see which football star would grace this years Madden cover. When the votes came down to it, Cleveland Browns Running Back Peyton Hillis beat out a pool of very stiff competition. Earlier this week, the cover of Madden was revealed to the public showing off a grafitti-esque design. EA Sports took over Times Square to shoot the latest cover for their storied Madden series.
Peyton Hillis shares the honor of being on the cover of Madden with some of the NFL's greats:
New Orleans Saints Quarterback Drew Brees,
Former Tennesse Titans Running Back Eddie George,
Washington Redskins Quarterback Donovan McNabb,
Baltimore Ravens Linebacker Ray Lewis,
Philadelphia Eagles' Quarterback Michael Vick,
Former Minnesota Vikings Quarterback Dante Culpepper,
The recently retired/unretired/retired Former Green Bay Packers Quarterback Brett Farve,
Former Seattle Seahawks Running Back Shaun Alexander,
Pittsburgh Steelers Safety Troy Polomalu and Arizona Cardinals Wide Receiver Larry Fitzgerald
Former St.Louis Rams Running Back Marshall Faulk
As we reported earlier this week, Marshall Faulk will be sharing the stage with Peyton Hillis for the Madden Hall of Fame Edition, which features Faulk's famous 2003 Madden Cover embossed with a bronze foil overlay while Hillis will grace the standard retail edition. Both will be on display at E3 2011 and will sure to generate a large audience.
