We knew it was only a matter of time before Capcom would decide to expand its Marvel vs. Capcom 3 universe. This morning, the company announced that next step, in the form of Ultimate Marvel vs. Capcom 3, set for release this November on Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3. Along with all the characters and stages from the original game, the quasi-sequel will introduce new stages and characters. First screens inside! UPDATE: It looks like the other characters have been leaked!
Fans will definitely appreciate the new balances that will come with Ultimate Marvel vs. Capcom 3, including character tweaking that will make some characters less than powerful. (We're looking at you, Dark Phoenix.) In addition, a Spectator Mode will be included, so players can check out others beating the crap out of one another in battle. Eight extra stages will also be thrown in, many inspired by both the Capcom and Marvel universes.
Best of all, the game will have twelve additional characters, bringing the roster to 58. While only four have been unveiled, they're definitely doozies as far as cool characters are concerned. On the Marvel side, Ghost Rider makes his fighting debut, alongside the arrow-shooting Hawkeye, who joins his Avengers chums Thor, Iron Man and Captain America. Meanwhile, Capcom brings the old-school, with a returning Strider Hiryu and the fire-breathing demon from the Ghouls n' Ghosts series, Firebrand. The other eight characters will be unveiled over the next few months, and some may even be shown this Saturday during Capcom's panel, taking place from 11:00-12:00 in room 25ABC.
Check out the first screens below, and get ready to battle later this year. (Shouldn't cost any more than $39.99.)
UPDATE: The rest of the game's roster has been leaked! Check out who could be in the game below. We'll wait for official confirmation from Capcom before we get excited.
Vergil (Devil May Cry)
Nemesis (Resident Evil 3)
Frank West (Dead Rising)
