The Elder Scrolls series is an addictive one at that. You can spend hours lost in the world, doing random quests, and defeating random foes. When I used to work at GameStop back in high school, my manager told me the sad tale about how The Elder Scrolls caused him to fail a few college classes (sorry Billy), and when a game has the power to do that, well, you know it must be quite special.

First shown as a tech demo at Apple's famed WWDC conference in 2007, RAGE has certainly come a long way. With the release date coming up mid-September, id Software and Bethesda Softworks are preparing for what is looking to be a unique twist on first-person shooters that is sure to be all the rage.

One of these guys has a great video game, the other two, eh not so much, but hey, we still love 'em anyway. And hey, Nathan Drake is about to have his hand in a world where Indian Jones succeeded, and lucky for us, Uwe Boll is staying far away from it.

Battlefield 3, the direct sequel to Battlefield 2, has a new trailer online. The trailer shows off what the team has been able to do with the Frostbite 2 game engine, and it certainly seems impressive. Check out the new trailer below.

It's been six years since SSX 3, and Todd Batty thinks its time to bring SSX back. He's reinvented the franchise, drawing comparisons with his take on SSX to recent reboots such as JJ Abrams' Star Trek, or Nolan's The Dark Knight. He wants to stay true to what made the original games great, but innovate enough to bring in people who might not have played the older games.

This week, EA Sports' Peter Moore revealed that Madden NFL 12 would release August 30th, roughly two weeks past the usual release date for the iconic football franchise. However, some fans may in fact be relieved by this announcment.

Following the announcement of their highly anticipated role-playing game Kingdoms of Amalur: Reckoning, 38 Studios visionaries Curt Schilling and R. A. Salvatore will be at Gen Con Indy 2010 on Friday, August 6, greeting attendees and giving away Reckoning t-shirts created exclusively for the conference.  Salvatore talks exclusively about the new game in this video interview.

Electronic Arts and 38 Studios will debut Kingdoms of Amalur: Reckoning, the company’s first title previously referred to under the codename “Project Mercury,” at Comic Con 2010. Reckoning is an epic, open-world role-playing game set in Amalur, a mysterious and magical new fantasy world created by New York Times best-selling author R. A. Salvatore. Brought to life visually through the trademark visceral style of renowned artist and Spawn creator Todd McFarlane, Reckoning brings a new level of intense action combat to the RPG genre. SAN FRANCISCO, California -- Activision really got things started at the Game Developers Conference (GDC) this year at its first look announcement party showing off its upcoming game True Crime, a reboot of the gritty, open-world action/adventure series. As part of the reboot, the franchise goes international to Hong Kong where you roam the streets of Hong Kong hunting Triad gang members as the character Wei.

SAN FRANCISCO -- Science fiction fans finally get their wish. Battlestar Galactica is getting an online videogame. Bigpoint will be demonstrating the next generation of client-free PC gaming at Game Developers Conference 2010. Leading its product slate for 2010 will be Battlestar Galactica Online, a tactical space combat and adventure massively multiplayer online game based on Syfy’s Battlestar Galactica series.
