Early this year, Bioware’s Mass Effect saga came to five year run. Rest aside the ending; the series is one of the most complete trilogies in video game history. There are two aspects that Mass Effect nails perfectly. The series was first to interweave choices all the way through the third and final installment captivating fans from start to finish. However, you can’t tell a great story if you forget to create the atmosphere for your game to breath in. The music in the game really doses shape Commander Shepard with it having one of the best scores in gaming, but do people notice? Do people look at soundtracks as a whole or as background noise?

Thanks in part to the sales surge of Sony’s PlayStation 3, there are now Blu-ray Disc players in one quarter of U.S. households. Lower hardware prices for stand-alone BD players have also contributed to this growth. According to Centris Research, the installed base of Blu-ray players in U.S. homes was up 47% in Q4 2011 over the same quarter of 2010.

Every Tuesday, Sony brings its PlayStation faithful new content, add-ons for your favorite games, Themes and avatars for your PlayStation 3 and PlayStation Portable. Again another standard week of PSN goods you can get, but for the most part the main draw are going to be demos. Twisted Metal is finally going to hit store shelves and the fans of  the series will be eager to get their hands on the multiplayer demo now available.

We're as much of a fan of James Bond as the next guy who likes his Q gadgets, but we can't help but think what a bummer it is that some of the best films in the series, like Goldeneye and (dare we argue) Octopussy aren't available yet on Blu-Ray format, the way they were meant to be seen.  But MGM rectified that this week at the Consumer Electronics Show when it made an announcement at Panasonic's booth regarding a special collector's edition set, due for release this year.

Microsoft was already bitten in the butt once trying to get into the high definition movie era with an external HD-DVD player, only to have the format drop dead not even a year after its release.  Instead, it has gone back to streaming 1080p entertainment through its Zune service.  Still, many folks are wondering if Microsoft will give the Blu-Ray format a try, in an attempt to compete with Sony's built-in player for the PlayStation 3.  According to a recent story from an Italian Xbox 360 magazine, they possibly could be.

Have you ever wanted to know virtually everything there ever was that went into creating one of the worst movies ever made? Do you just yearn to know why normally smart people make some stupid decisions that result in a hot steaming mess of personified WTF? Do you at all wax nostalgic for the 90's, a time when bad movies had some type of special I don't know what that make them somehow infinitely enjoyable in a way that science has as of yet failed to quantify? Then baby, do I have an interview to show you.

One of the most talked about films of 2010, The Twilight Saga: Eclipse, is taking a bite out of the home entertainment market. Summit has released a Two-Disc Special Edition DVD, Single Disc Blu-ray, Single Disc DVD, and Blu-ray/DVD Combo amidst launch parties for Twihards. Actor Michael Welch, who has starred in all three Twilight films alongside Robert Pattinson, Taylor Lautner, and Kristen Stewart, talks about his own videogame background and why fans haven’t yet seen a Twilight game in this exclusive video interview.
