A good number of zombie games have been coming out in the past few years - Resident Evil 5, Dead Nation, Dead Rising, and the Left 4 Dead series to name a few. It also appears to be the trend to have "Dead" in the title somewhere too. I guess it comes with the territory. Dead Island looks to join the crowd, having players fight their way off of an island that becomes infested with zombies while on vacation. The game is set to be shown off at E3, but earlier this week a teaser trailer and new screenshots have been released to build up anticipation for its official showing.

Dark Souls is the spiritual successor to Demon's Souls, the award winning RPG developed by From Software and published by Namco Bandai. Demon's Souls featured a number of gameplay mechanics were also built around the fact that the player would be dying on a regular basis, and even the multiplayer used this aspect. Dark Souls seems to include this as well, and Namco Bandai have put up a new site and trailer, viewable below, which shows of just some of the ways players can expect to die in the game.

As humans, we have this fascination with robots and technology becoming sentient and making humanity irrelevant. Films, books, televisions shows are all based around this concept--with perhaps the most famous of them being Terminator and Issac Assimov's I, Robot (and yes, I love Do Androids Dream Of Electric Sheep too). Hopping onto the scene is SEGA's Binary Domain--a squad-based shooter that tackles this very concept.

Catherine is a horror title from Atlus that is set to release this summer. From the same team as Persona 4, the game focuses on a number of mature themes that most games don't think to address. These new screenshots, available below, show just a glimpse of what players can expect from this bizarre game.

It's been almost exactly 10 years since Rockstar Games and Remedy worked on the original Max Payne, 8 years since Max Payne 2, and 3 years since we saw Mark Wahlberg well, try to play the role of Max Payne in theaters. Ignoring that little gem of video game movie history (all right, it was better than the Super Mario Bros movie--I'll give you that), we now move on to the hotly anticipated Max Payne 3!

I recently had the opportunity to try out NCAA Football 12. While there, I spoke with Jean Adams, art director of NCAA 12, and Ben Haumiller, the producer. What I learned has me more excited for NCAA 12 than I thought I could be. More info after the jump.

Both Saints Row titles remind me of the film The Warriors, which ironically was turned into a game. Players assume the role of a specific gang member tasked with doing various objectives in an open sandbox world in order to restore order and regain turf for their gang. While the games feel like, well, you know which game I'm going to mention, they held their own and both titles received wide critical and consumer acclaim. The online component was crucial in making the series a success. Thus, developer Volition and Publisher THQ have some pretty big shoes to fill, and they are pulling out all the stops in Saints Row: The Third.

Serious Sam is a unique series. It had it's early beginnings on the PC as a kitchy FPS known for Sam, the Duke Nukem-esque meathead that spouted off hilarious line which solidified the games cult-like following. Then, we saw console re-releases that turned Sam from Nukem to the cel-shaded mingun wielding cartoony iteration. This current generation, we've seen HD Remakes appear on both Steam and Xbox Live Arcade and it continues to do what it does best and that's differentiate itself from the run-of-the-mill FPS'. And now it's time for an additional chapter in the Serious Sam series, seriously.
