What is it with old-school arcade revivals this year?  First The Simpsons Arcade Game made a comeback on both Xbox Live and PlayStation Network, entertaining a whole new generation of gamers without the need to break out a roll of quarters.  Now THQ is hitting the wrestling ring with a remake of WWE Wrestlefest, a game that originally body slammed into arcades back in ’91 under Technos’ direction.  And just like it did back then, Wrestlefest promises to be button-mashing fun.

Last week marks the week of numerous boxes of chocolate being consumed, roses being delivered, and all of that lovey dovey stuff thanks to a little day called Valentine's Day. Surely, plenty of people are probably still feeling a bit hyper thanks to all of that sugar their loved one gave them as a gift. There could be no better timing for a new DLC map for Modern Warfare 3, giving people a chance to expend all of that excess energy learning a brand new map and making an example of other players.
Once again, Naughty Dog has done a little more digging in the vault to bring forth some oldies but goodies in terms of multiplayer maps for Uncharted 3. Tomorrow will see the release of 4 of your favorite maps from Uncharted 2 to add a little bit of variety to all of your multiplayer needs. Naughty Dog released a trailer for the upcoming maps, as well as hint at a brand new game mode coming soon.

NBA 2K12 has been roaring up the basketball charts over the past few months, mainly due to the lack of a (direct) competitor.  But it's still one hell of a sim, and players everywhere have been dunking and raining three's, even if it's without New York Knicks superstar Jeremy Lin.  (But, yeah, we know you play as him sometime.  Admit it.)  Now the madness is set to continue next month, as Best Buy has announced a new edition that will be sold exclusively through them.

Playing through game demos and unlocking content for the full game isn't a new practice, as developers have been doing it for months.  However, offering new content for other games is kind of new, as it entices players to try out something other than the product they're demoing.  Microsoft has announced that two upcoming Xbox Live demos will do just that, giving the players ample rewards for other games merely by going through the main demos.

Ever since its release in 2010, Gran Turismo 5 has been winning the hearts of racing fans on the PlayStation 3, selling millions of copies.  Lately, the amount of DLC for the game has picked up, with new cars and content to keep fans happy.  If you somehow missed out on it, don't worry, as Sony is preparing a special "XL" version of the game that will have all that content included, and for a lower price.

The bitter break-up between Rock Band developer Harmonix and the game's publishing arm at Viacom has been a messy one.  Following the somewhat expensive development of The Beatles Rock Band (due to licensing) and the release of Rock Band 3, Viacom unceremoniously dumped the developer, who purchased themselves back for $50.  Ever since, the companies have been battling back and forth over payments due over the series' release and royalties.  But it looks like the final decision could be leaning in Harmonix's favor...

Despite some problems with the Call of Duty Elite service, Activision is fully dedicated to its billion dollar baby, Modern Warfare 3.  In a recent announcement on the exclusive Elite program Roll Call, Robert Bowling, a long-time member of the Infinity Ward team, announced a release date that would not only kick off the run of downloadable content for the game, but also new features on Elite.

A lot of controversy has surrounded Harmonix and Rock Band 3 since its release last year, particularly with MTV Games dropping the developer and then turning around and suing shareholders for taking too many cash awards from its success.  But that hasn't stopped millions of gamers from rocking out to its selections, as well as its downloadable content, which continues on a weekly basis to this day.  But now MadCatz is looking to do a little banking of its own, as it's repackaging the game just in time for this season's holiday rush.

We're getting all sorts of WWE announcements this week.  Hot on the heels of news that Mick Foley, the Hardcore Legend, was joining the game's upcoming DLC packs, we've just learned that one more legend has been added to the mix -- "Macho Man" Randy Savage.

WWE 12 is just about nine days from release, and wrestling fans everywhere can't wait to get their hands on the latest wrestling game from THQ, featuring a plethora of superstars, improved presentation items and plenty of exciting, table-crashing gameplay.  But it looks like the downloadable content for the game is picking up as well, as the company has announced that Dave Batista has been added to the upcoming roster additions.

10.24.11's an addiction in itself.  The retro-flavored action game has addicted millions of people thus far, and is even holding its own event, Minecon, next month in Las Vegas, Nevada.  But now it looks like it's going to cross over to a new platform, and a whole new level of addiction, as the game is set to hit the Xbox 360 early next year.  And those of you attending Minecon will get a chance to see what it's like.

Valve Software has always been a company with some great ideas under its belt.  And yeah, even though it can't quite count to three yet on its most beloved franchise, Half-Life, there's no question that Portal 2 is a contender for Game of the Year.  Well, it's about to get even better, as the company has announced a robust new addition to its sequel set for release early next year -- one that'll involve the community even more than ever before.

If you haven't picked up NBA 2K12 yet, you're really missing out on some great basketball.  And considering that the real life season has taken a skid into "not happening" territory, it's a superb alternative to turn to.  That said, if you do have it, then you know how great it really is.  However, according to some leaked screens we found across the internet, it's bound to get even better with some forthcoming DLC.  (UPDATE: Confirmed by 2K Sports!)

For the longest time -- since its release back in April, actually -- Valve Software has been talking about the downloadable content that would be released for Portal 2, and because the game turned out to do so phenomenally well in terms of appraise and sales, one would think it'd be ready sooner than later.  But Valve eventually stated that it would be released in September...which it wasn't.  Luckily, it's not too far off from its promise, as the content is finally coming next week.

Dead Island came out earlier this week for Xbox 360, PlayStation 3 and PC, and several thousands of players thronged to the tropical resort to do damage to all kinds of undead.  The game is a big hit, and it's about to expand even further with the announcement of an upcoming DLC pack called Bloodbath Arena, due for release later this month.

Even though XP 2011 has come to a close, the excitement for Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 has just begun.  The game is just a little over two months from release, and players will have a lot to look forward to in the game's campaign, Spec Ops co-op and multiplayer.  And though the $59.99 edition will offer all of this, some of you might consider upgrading to the Hardened Edition for $40 more.  Activision explained what's all included in this package.

As part of its jam-packed press conference this morning from Cologne, Germany, Sony unveiled a new downloadable chapter for its action/adventure Infamous 2, being produced by Sucker Punch.  The DLC is titled Festival of Blood, and it features Cole McGrath in a whole new dark setting that you probably wouldn't have expected before.  Oh, yeah, and he's a vampire.  But is it overkill?

With Kenshi and Skarlet out of the way, it's almost time for the third DLC character for Mortal Kombat to be released as part of the Mortal Kombat Season Pass. That third fighter is the ninja in purple - Rain. Considered to be a laughing stock by many simply due to the color he wears, Rain is probably one of the least favorite characters throughout the game's history. However, he looks to gain a little bit of favor in this new gameplay trailer showing off just what he can do.
Two weeks ago, NetherRealm Studios began unleashing DLC onto the Mortal Kombat scene with the release of Skarlet, the glitch in Mortal Kombat II who finally became an official character in the recent Mortal Kombat title. Yesterday, NetherRealm rolled out even more DLC with Kenshi, the blind swordsman who made his debut in Mortal Kombat: Deadly Alliance. With a new arsenal of moves and combos, Kenshi is better than ever and makes for one of the best fighters to play as in the game.
Last week, NetherRealm Studios opened up the flood gates of DLC with the release of Skarlet, the Mortal Kombat II glitch that eventually became an actual character. The next kombatant in line is Kenshi, the blind swordsman who made his first appearance in Mortal Kombat: Deadly Alliance. While gamers patiently wait for him to hit the market, a new gameplay trailer has been released that shows off the moves we can expect Kenshi to pull off.
As if Sonic's birthday couldn't have been a big blast as it is, rumors over what the full level list of Sonic Generations are popping up. A few people took some extra time to feed their curiosity over the new game by hacking into the demo's code to see what they could find. What they did manage to find were files inside the code named after several stages in the various Sonic the Hedgehog games, and are believed to be the levels we will see in Sonic Generations.
Back in the days of klassic Mortal Kombat, several of the characters created for the game were nothing more than a simple palette swap. The model used for Katana/Milena/Jade in Mortal Kombat II was the same actress, just with different color outfits in each fighter. However, in some arcade cabinets an unknown fourth character from that same model appeared as an error, wearing a red outfit. While she had no official name, many fans of the series dubbed her Skarlet. But now in the new Mortal Kombat, she no longer is in that category as she makes her official debut in the series, and she can be quite the force to reckon with.
Although Call of Duty fans may have their eyes set on Modern Warfare 3, there still is some fun to be had in Call of Duty: Black Ops. The game has already seen the release of two map packs since it's release in November of last year, but a third map pack very well may be on the way. A photograph leaked out onto the internet, showing off 5 possible maps for an upcoming DLC map pack.
